Nice to hear I'm not the only ornery old fart who cannot stand anti-lock braking systems, and thinks they are more of a hindrance and danger than a useful feature. As y'all said, they came about because because folks are apparently too stupid to learn how to operate a vehicle properly these days. Same crap with trying to make truck tractors more like small cars. Instead of properly screening and training operators. Personally, I can barely stand automatic transmissions. On a related note, years ago when I was still trucking for a living, driving for a smaller outfit set up as an owner-op under Swift (yeah, don't even say it) I very nearly wrecked and hit a school bus driving through Idaho in inclement weather because of the stupid ABS system. I'd have been just fine without it. Instead, stupid ABS decides to completely tune out my braking force to the point I finally stopped about 5 feet behind the suddenly stopped school bus as the highway turned into a parking lot. I was 350 feet or so back when I started braking, doing around 45 MPH. Also, it was a Volvo tractor, which I hate even more than ABS. Volvo apparently can't decide if they want to build defective supercomputers or trucks. Don't even get me started on Volvo's built-in automatic "fault detection" and what it does when it thinks there's a fault. Pretty sure Volvo has been sued a few times over that. Dunno what genius decided it would be a good idea to tell a computer to shut off your truck going down a 16% grade with switchbacks because it detects a potential catastrophic fault. Yeah, well, that's definitely a catastrophic disaster now, whether or not the fault was real.

Same with a horse, it can put out much more power then 1hp but not sustainable. Sustainable effort of a draft horse over many hours is equal to around 1hp. The term came to be from James Watt trying to compare steam engines to horses.

"Oh another roundabout." I was waiting for a rant and got nothing. 😲 My hubby drives a roundabout like a race track! All I can say is that you best get out of his way. You can thank Frank Blackmore who came up with the crazy idea of a roundabout way back in the early 60's. Sixty years later, MN is thick with them - even out in the middle of nowhere! I'm all in favor of reducing fatal crashes but jeepers, enough already! Oh, and that long, white tank in the field at 13:18 would have been fun getting through a roundabout. MN Hwy Patrol has to close down the highway so the driver can inch it around the curves. Google it. It's kinda cool how they maneuver it. My hubby and son works at a MN welding shop where similar ones are built. I didn't see their company logo on this tank.
